Hi, I’m Martina — the creator behind Baked by Boxed Up Expressions.
I’ve always been someone who finds joy in the little details. The way something looks, how it makes someone feel, and the memories tied to it—that’s what inspires everything I do. What started as a passion for creating has grown into a business that truly reflects who I am at my core: thoughtful, creative, and driven by connection.
As a licensed home baker, I take pride in not only the creativity behind what I make, but also the quality and care that goes into every single detail.
Over time, I found my lane in creating mini treats—small, intentional desserts that bring a big impact. There’s something special about giving people the ability to enjoy a variety, to indulge without overthinking it, and to experience something that feels both personal and elevated at the same time.
Everything I create is rooted in care. I’m big on making people feel seen, celebrated, and taken care of—whether that’s through a custom order or an experience that brings people together in the moment.

My Story
A Little Idea That Turned Into Something Sweeter
What started as a little gift shop during COVID, on the floor of my family room, quickly turned into something I never could have imagined. I wanted to create something that made people smile during a time when the world needed a little extra happiness. That little idea grew, and before I knew it, I had expanded into a brick-and-mortar gift shop right here in our community.
But as time went on, I realized our little plaza needed something more. I wanted to bring something different to the table (literally!). So, I pivoted. I started baking mini treats, experimenting with flavors, and creating something that would eventually become the heart of this business.
And here we are!
Pivoting has become a little bit of a theme around here. Sometimes the original plan doesn't work out exactly how you pictured it. Sometimes you have to step back, rethink things, get creative, and take a different direction. I've learned that changing direction doesn't mean giving up. Sometimes it means making room for something even better. What began as a way to bring smiles through gifts has grown into a small-batch bakery built on creativity, community, and a whole lot of buttercream.
We've had a few twists, turns, and plenty of pivots along the way, but every chapter has brought us right where we're supposed to be. Today, I'm still that one-woman show with big ideas, a love for creating, and a whole lot of gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey.
From a family room floor to a gift shop, to a bakery, and everything in between… we're still figuring it out, still dreaming big, and probably still pivoting. And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way.
